  25. THOR's terminology and operating methods spring from the desire to keep a
  26. consistant interface across many different kinds of messages bases.  This
  27. is all good and usefull if one actually uses many kinds of message bases.

  29. However, many of the users here and perhaps all of the vocal detractors of
  30. Thor do not use many different kinds of messages bases.  They use only
  31. RFC822 mail and Usenet News.  In this context, Thor's message format
  32. independence provides no advantage.  Further the compromises in usage and
  33. terminology needed to achieve message store independence make the program
  34. harder to use and less effective for news and mail.

  36. Thor is definately the 4x4 of news/mail readers.  It goes places Grn, Tin,
  37. elm, etc can't go.  But what's the point if you never leave the pavement?
